The jade suit is consist of five parts , namely, head protect , coat, trousers, gloves and shoes. On the head protect there are eye patch, nasal obstruction , ear plugs, and a fish-shape piece of jade to hold in the mouth. In the hypo gastric zone, there is a box for covering the reproductive organ, and an anus obstruction. The whole suit is made of white jade.

The gold wire jade suit appears in Wenjing period, Western Han Dynasty of ancient China, it is used for the highest class of burry ceremony, and it is the noblest cheliform (ceremonial implement) . It is said that the jade can keep the corps cool so that the corps can be kept for thousands of years. According to historical records, the funeral custom in Han Dynasty has strict rules that jade suit is necessary for the funeral, and only the Kings can wear the gold wire jade suit when they die, the feudal baron or lord wear silver wire jade suit, the nobles and eldest princess only the copper wire jade suit. So the gold wire jade suit is a symbol of the exalted.

Till the Three Kingdoms Period, one of the kings named Caopi (the son of Caocao) set up new rules of the funeral that there would be no more jade suit for funerals. That is to say the Han Dynasty is the unique period that has the jade suit.
